The Dragons Oath Cat Bed

Your cat has already chosen the bookshelf. She sleeps on the paperbacks, sheds on the hardbacks, and looks at you like you're the one in her way. This gives her somewhere of her own — a warm tan velvet book that mounts flat to your wall, with a soft cushioned hollow inside for her to curl into.

Dark lettering and a dragon worked into the cover, for the shelf that earned its scars.

• Warm tan and camel plush velvet with dark lettering and a dragon motif
• Mounts flat to the wall like a framed picture — takes up no floor space at all
• Soft removable cushion inside a wide oval opening

Hung low, so she'll actually use it

Most wall-mounted cat beds get photographed high up on the wall because it looks good in the picture. That's also why so many of them sit empty. Mount yours about 65 cm off the floor — a little over two feet, roughly level with the second shelf up on a standard bookcase — and she can hop straight in from the floor in one easy jump, without having to think about it. Low is the whole point.

Bigger than it looks on a screen

It's 50 cm tall and 42 cm wide. Held in front of you it runs from your collarbone to below your waist, and it's wider than your shoulders — you need both hands to carry it. On the wall it reads a little over half the width of a standard bookcase. The oval is roomy enough for a full-grown long-haired cat to curl up inside with space to spare. Almost everyone pictures something paperback-sized before it arrives; it isn't.
