The Rose Court

The shelf with the sprayed edges and the cracked spines, where the court books live and nobody is allowed to borrow anything.

A Court of Petals is burnt orange plush velvet with gold lettering and a sculpted rose worked into the corner. It hangs flat on the wall beside the books, with a soft cushioned oval inside big enough for a full-grown cat to curl into with room to spare.

Mount it low — about 65 cm off the floor — so she can get in by herself.
